Tentakil 2

Colored version here.

That little "evil smile" looked fine in the B/W version.
But doesn't quite look right (to me) now that it's colored.

May need to redo this one a little.

The 2nd of 2 fembots I have on the Seacon team.....the 1st being Nautilator.

It was always my intention to make at least 1 member of the Seacons into a fembot, and I decided a while ago that it would be Tentalkil.
Dunno exactly why, but probably mostly because I never did like his original design.

As with Snaptrap, I did not have the original Tentakil toy to work from, and so I had to go to the internet to get his likeness.
But this actually didn't matter anyway because,
I ended up redesigning him almost entirely from scratch.
Anyone who knows what Tentakil is supposed to look like....
can see that I TOTALLY threw out BOTH his original beast mode and robot mode designs.
(again, I never liked his original design to begin with).

Tentakil's original "Monster Squid" form never really looked like a squid to me.
It really did lean more towards "Monster" than it did "Squid".
In fact, I'd say this form actually looked a lot more like
"the watcher in the water"
creature that tried to eat Frodo just outside the Mines of Moria.
(which I thought really was cool and scary looking)
I attempted to make Tentakil's beast mode look similar,
but I just couldn't seem to get transition to being robotized very well.
So I decided to just go with a more "squidy" robosquid looking thing instead.

I had long ago decided to make her tentacles into robot "hair", when I decided to incorporate the fembot redesign idea for him.
(I actually 1st did this with my fembot redesign of Nautilator)
At the time I thought tentacle "hair" was a totally original idea I had,
but I've since learned that it has been done before.

While looking up photos of squids and octopuses,
the shape of the large rounded protruding brows of the octopus kind of looked like a woman's breasts....
(I hope I'm not the only one who has ever made this visual connection)

*cough*cough*

Anyway....
Uh...with all this in mind, I thought
"well what the heck, why not".
And so WALLA! Here we are:
"metal brow/boobs".
(only here on DA kids!).

The Seacons have never really been one of my favorite teams,
but when I heard that they were being re-released in a new set,
(which came out a few months ago...shows you how lazy I am)
I thought that I'd like take a crack at them.

Except for Snaptrap, I never liked the way ANY of their robot forms looked.
Dunno what it was....
I just thought they were lame looking.
Their Beast Modes on the other hand were great looking,
and this really was the only reason I had bought a few of these guys.

When I did pics of the Preadcons and the Dinobots here on DA,
(check my gallery please)
there were some comments asking about their alternate/beast modes which I never drew.
(I still may in the future, but I just haven't yet).
So I decided to draw both modes at the same time here.
